Some users may experience issues with Navigator running slow on their PC. If this is the case, it is quite often due to the PC itself being overloaded.
If this is the case, users will experience some of the following symptoms :-
- Opening windows and menus on Navigator running very slow
- Hanging of Navigator if you don't use for several minutes
- Random crashing and errors popping up (unhandled exceptions)
If everybody in the dealership is experiencing the same issue then the issue probably lies elsewhere and you should contact our helpdesk.
The key thing to check is the PC specifications for running Navigator. Please be aware that the current minimum memory requirements for a PC running Navigator is 2GB. This excludes other applications running on the PC. Please be aware that running a browser application (eg facebook or gmail etc) can easily use 1GB of memory on its own. Memory is also needed for other applications (even an antivirus product can use 200mb of memory!)
In reality, a well used PC these days should have 4GB of memory or more to run effectively.
You can test this out - simply reboot your PC and run Navigator only for an hour. If you don't note slow performance then this is most likely the issue and a memory upgrade of the PC will make a significant difference.
