Superceding a part number is used to move a part, description and quantity over to a new number.
This is done by going into the part record, clicking 'Supercede', a pop up box will then appear, in the right hand box enter the new part number and click supercede.
When loading the original part number up, at the bottom it'll show it's been superceded to part 'ABC123' for example, and in the new number it'll also show which part it was superceded from 'ABC1'.
