CODE
The last parts is what is it? I.e. Telephone, Rent, etc.
These can be found in the nominal part of the system follow below to find:
Accounts - Nominal ledger –Utilities – Setup and the tab for Nominal
So, for example, I want to post a purchase invoice for the Utilities and split it between 2 departments
1.20.50.445 (Service Dept)
1.10.50.445 (Parts Dept)
You can see that it only the Department part of the code that has changed
If posting items to the Balance sheet then they should be as follows
0.0.60.???
Or
0.0.70.???
This way it will keep all balance sheet items together at the top of the Trial Balance
On Navigator, there is also an Extended Nominal code structure and this is system Generated to allow the break down for each department & Franchise needs, this will take the code from 5 parts to 10.
