When processing a VAT Return on Navigator using Making Tax Digital, it is necessary for the users HMRC credentials to be linked with Navigator to authorise Navigator to send VAT Submissions using these.
This is done initially using the Making Tax Digital platform, but also requires renewing from time to time (every 18 months normally).
When entering the VAT Returns System, Navigator will verify that it has valid HMRC credentials to connect with Making Tax Digital. If not, then a web page will display which leads through the process as follows :-
Clicking continue will then request the users existing Government Gateway login and password:-
And will then confirm that this is complete.
