This guide explains the process of booking parts to a workshop job using the Navigator system. Booking parts accurately ensures efficient workflow within the workshop, facilitates part tracking, and ensures jobs are costed correctly. This can include pre-picking parts for future tasks or providing parts directly to a technician.
Step-by-Step Process
1. Accessing the Workshop Job:
Open the Navigator Parts Point-of-Sale module.
Select the Job Shift (F4) button.
Search and select your specific workshop job using the provided fields.
Navigator will automatically display the job card details for review.
2. Booking Parts to the Job:
Click the Invoice tab to proceed.
Add the required parts using the bottom section of the screen.
Pricing usually requires no manual input, as the system auto-prices parts when the workshop job is costed.
3. Completing the Booking:
Click the Workshop (F9) button.
Fill in necessary details at the bottom of this screen:
Pre-Pick Box Number: Enter a location reference if pre-picking parts.
Pre-Pick Complete: Tick this box if pre-picking is fully completed.
Picking Note Required: A picking note prints automatically if the job status is set as a booking; this can be manually overridden by ticking or unticking this option.
Click Confirm to finalise booking the parts to the job.
Important Tips:
Regularly review and confirm job details before booking parts.
Clearly label pre-picked parts to streamline workshop operations.
Always verify if picking notes are needed, ensuring they are printed accurately.
