Ford VLM Walkthrough

The Ford VLM interface can be accessed either through the appointment creation process or directly via a workshop job.

Accessing VLM through Appointment Creation:

  1. Navigate to Workshop > Service Reception > Appointment.
  2. Search for the vehicle (ensure the make is Ford).
  3. Select Requests, then click Add.
  4. Scroll to the VLM tab and double-click the Component Code to open the next set of options.
  5. A list of options provided by Ford will appear. Follow the menu prompts until the final code is selected.
  6. Press Yes to confirm. The request will then be populated with the appropriate LON code and work details.
  7. Any required parts will be automatically added to a pick list, making it easy for the parts department to book them out.

Note: Since this is a development system without access to Ford franchise parts, we cannot fully demonstrate the parts process. However, in a live system, parts will appear in Parts > Point of Sale > Pick List Items.

Accessing VLM via a Workshop Job:

  1. Go to Workshop > Service Reception and search for the relevant job.
  2. Click Add Request.
  3. Scroll to the VLM tab and double-click the Component Code.
  4. Continue through the menu selections, similar to the appointment creation process, until the final code is selected.
