How to Amend a Registration Number on a Stock Record

Follow these steps to amend the registration number for a stock vehicle:

Step 1: Access the Stock Record

1. Navigate to the Vehicle Admin Toolkit and locate the stock record for the vehicle.
2. Verify that the vehicle is in an amendable status.
   • Note: The Reg No field on the Details tab may not always be directly editable.

Step 2: Check for Restrictions

Ensure that none of the following conditions apply to the vehicle:

• An invoice has been raised against the vehicle.
• A sales order is in place.
• The vehicle has already been delivered.

If any of these conditions exist:

1. Cancel the sales order, or
2. Reverse the delivery status of the vehicle.

Step 3: Remove the Current Registration Number

1. On the Details tab, click the Remove Regbutton.
   • Use this for cherished plate transfers or to correct input errors.
2. Pressing this button will clear the existing registration number.

Step 4: Enter the Correct Registration Number

1. Type the new registration number into the Reg Nofield.
   • Ensure the registration number is entered in uppercase and without spaces.
2. Press the Tab key to save the changes.

Important Notes:

• Always verify the accuracy of the new registration number before saving.
• If the system does not allow changes, confirm the vehicle's status or consult your administrator for further assistance.
