How to Add and Manage Used Vehicle Adverts on AutoTrader via Navigator

Navigator allows users to list and manage used vehicle adverts directly through AutoTrader using the Vehicle Admin Toolkit. This integration ensures vehicles are seamlessly published online with the correct pricing, specifications, and media. This article outlines the step-by-step process for adding a vehicle, updating its details, and managing advert publication.

Adding a Used Vehicle to AutoTrader

Step 1: Add the Vehicle in Navigator

• Navigate to Vehicle Admin Toolkit.

• Select Add Used Vehicle.

• Use the Create from a New Vehicle option.

Once created, the new vehicle should appear in your AutoTrader account as unpublished.

Step 2: Open the Stock Record and Access Advertising

• Open the newly created stock record.

• Navigate to the Advertising screen.

• This will display current advert settings for that vehicle.

Note: If the stock record is not newly created, click the Get Data button to sync data from AutoTrader and populate all relevant fields.

Step 3: Publish the Advert

In the Advert Location section:

• Tick the AutoTrader checkbox to publish the advert to the AutoTrader website.

• You can also select Own Website (AutoTrader) and UVL Advert to publish to other relevant platforms.

Updating AutoTrader Fields

Price

• Update the Sale Price directly on the stock record.

• The change will automatically feed through to AutoTrader.

Mileage

• Update the Mileage on the stock record.

• This will also sync to AutoTrader automatically.

Features

• Click the Features Report from the feature list to:

  • Add or remove features via tick boxes.

  • View and edit MOT data (if available from AutoTrader).

If the features report does not load, click Get Data to retrieve the most recent information from AutoTrader.

Other Advert Fields

• Use the Advertising Extras section under Stock Management > AutoTrader to update additional advert fields such as:

  • Advert titles or descriptions

  • Custom images

  • Finance options

Saving and Publishing Changes to AutoTrader

• After making changes, click either Save or Exit.

  • Both actions will save your updates in Navigator and sync them to AutoTrader.

• Ensure the AutoTrader tick box is selected when saving.

The Advertising screen will confirm whether the record is now published to AutoTrader.

To verify the live advert:

• Click the View Advert Online button.

• Your changes should now be reflected on the AutoTrader website.

Note: Some updates may take a few minutes to an hour to become visible on the AutoTrader site.
