This guide explains how to sync vehicle listings from AutoTrader into the Navigator system. When a sync is triggered, vehicle details stored on AutoTrader will be imported into Navigator, replacing existing information.
What Gets Synced
When the sync process is activated, the following data is pulled from AutoTrader and mirrored in Navigator:
- Vehicle colour
- Descriptions
- Images
- Any other listing details available on the AutoTrader portal
Important:
All data imported from AutoTrader will overwrite existing data in Navigator. For example, if Navigator shows a colour as "Panther Black" and AutoTrader lists it as "Black", the sync will replace "Panther Black" with "Black".
Timing of the Sync
- Syncing occurs overnight after the request is initiated.
- Ensure the request has been properly submitted before the end of the business day.
Prerequisites for a Successful Sync
To ensure a successful data sync from AutoTrader to Navigator:
- A stock record must already exist in Navigator.
- The stock record must contain matching key identifiers, such as:
- Registration number
- Chassis number
If the record is missing or incomplete in Navigator, the sync will not occur for that vehicle.
Summary Checklist
✅ Sync requested before end of day
✅ Vehicle exists in Navigator with correct registration and chassis
✅ Aware that AutoTrader details will overwrite Navigator data
✅ Overnight sync process acknowledged
