The Retail Price Checker in Navigator integrates with Autotrader’s data to help dealers understand the market competitiveness of their vehicle pricing. It gives users a Retail Rating - a metric that predicts how well a vehicle is likely to sell based on its current advertised price and location.
This tool is particularly valuable for sales teams, stock managers, and pricing strategists who want to make informed decisions when pricing vehicles for optimal turnover and profitability. By leveraging national and local market insights, it ensures pricing strategies are aligned with real-world consumer demand.
What is Retail Rating?
The Retail Rating is a score out of 100, indicating the retail potential of a vehicle if it were priced at 100% of its market value. In other words, it tells you how competitive your pricing is from a retail speed of sale perspective, not just profitability.
Key Points:
A score close to 100 means the vehicle is highly likely to sell quickly at its current price if priced at true market value.
Retail Rating does not change if you increase or decrease your price — it always measures potential assuming a market-value price.
It considers:
National speed of sale statistics
Supply and demand levels
Local market adjustments based on your forecourt location
This makes it a pure, comparative measure of desirability and demand — useful for benchmarking across vehicles with very different values.
