The Parts > Stock Order function allows users to generate stock orders for parts within the system. This is a crucial part of managing parts inventory, ensuring that stock levels are maintained appropriately, and enabling timely replenishment.
A recent change has been made to improve the stability and performance of this process.
What Has Changed?
Previously, stock orders were processed instantly upon creation. However, to improve system reliability and reduce processing load, this functionality has now been updated:
Stock orders are no longer processed immediately.
Once a stock order is created, it is now processed in the background.
What to Expect
After submitting a stock order, the system will queue the order for background processing.
It is expected that an email notification will be sent to the user who created the order once it is ready.
Note: As of now, this email notification feature may still be under development and is not consistently triggered.
Users should allow approximately 10 minutes for the order to be processed.
Recommended Action
Until the email notifications are confirmed to be working, users should:
Submit the stock order as usual.
Wait around 10 minutes.
Close out of the screen then return to the order screen to check if the order has completed processing.
Additional Notes
This change is intended to enhance the reliability of the ordering function and reduce strain on the system during peak times.
