Why Am I Getting the "COSTS POSTED" Error When Trying to Delete a Stock Record?

The "COSTS POSTED" error occurs because the system prevents the deletion of a stock record if there are still costs associated with it.

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Check for Remaining Costs:

    • Access the stock record and go to the Purchase Status tab.
    • Select Cost Analysis.
  2. Review and Reverse Costs:

    • If the costs do not net to zero, you'll need to reverse any remaining costs. These could include purchase invoices, workshop expenses, or other charges.
    • Ensure all transactions are fully reversed before attempting to delete the stock record.
  3. Address Other Potential Errors:

    • If you encounter errors like "PX from stock" or "Vehicle Consigned," you'll need to un-adopt and deconsign the vehicle before proceeding.

By following these steps, you can resolve the "COSTS POSTED" error and successfully delete the stock record.
