How to Suspend an Account in the Sales Ledger

Modified on Mon, 17 Feb at 9:16 AM

Suspending an account in Navigator's Sales Ledger prevents new invoices from being raised against it. This can be done manually or set to auto-suspend based on overdue payments.

Manually Suspending an Account

1️⃣ Access the Sales Ledger

  • Navigate to Sales Ledger > Search for the Customer Account

2️⃣ Go to the Terms Tab

  • Click on the Terms tab within the customer record

3️⃣ Set Account Status to "Suspended"

  • Change the account status to "Suspended"
  • This prevents new invoices from being created for the account

Understanding Auto Suspension (Suspended Auto)

? If the account status is "Suspended (Auto)", it means the suspension is controlled by the Auto Stop (days) setting.

? Auto Stop (days) is also found under the Terms tab and determines how many days an invoice can remain unpaid before the system automatically suspends the account.

Example:

  • If Auto Stop (days) = 60, the system will automatically suspend the account if an invoice remains unpaid for 60 days.

Reverting an Account from "Suspended (Auto)" to Open

  • To reactivate an account that is Suspended (Auto), you need to:
✅ Adjust the Auto Stop (days) setting to a higher value
✅ Ensure overdue invoices are settled

⚠️ If the Auto Stop (days) setting is not updated, the account will automatically revert to "Suspended (Auto)" after the next invoice cycle.
