This guide explains how to configure or update printers within Navigator for various document types such as invoices, job cards, and reports.
Accessing Printer Settings
Navigate to Workstation Setup:
- Go to Setup from the main Navigator menu.
- Select Workstation Setup from the dropdown options.
Update Printer Settings:
- Click the Update button to amend the printer settings.
- Choose a printer from the list, ensuring it matches the specific needs of your workstation.
- Note: You can set a printer different from your Windows Default Printer if required.
Understanding Printer Types
Each document type can be directed to a specific printer:
- Invoice Printer:
- Used for printing invoices across all departments (e.g., workshop, vehicles).
- Job Card Printer:
- Dedicated for printing job cards only.
- Portrait Report Printer:
- Used for reports that generate in portrait orientation, including proforma invoices.
- Landscape Report Printer:
- Used for reports that generate in landscape orientation, such as till receipt printouts.
Tips
- Ensure each printer is correctly set up and operational to avoid delays or errors.
- Test print a sample document after updating printer settings to confirm configurations.
- Contact your IT department if any of the printers do not appear in the list or are not functioning as expected.
Workstation Setup can be found within the Setup drop down menu.
You can select Update to amend the printer if different from the Windows Default printer.
Which printer is which?
Invoice Printer: this is any invoice, from workshop to vehicles
Job Card: this is job cards only
Portrait Report: any report that generates in a portrait format, including your proforma invoices
Landscape Report: any report that generates in a landscape format, this can include your till rec print out
