Modified on Mon, 30 Dec, 2024 at 11:16 AM

A Combination Labour Request Line allows you to partition values between different types, such as charging part of a request line to a customer and another part to warranty. This guide explains how to create and configure such a line in Navigator.

Steps to Create a Combination Labour Request Line

Step 1: Access the Workshop Module

  1. Navigate to the Workshop Module.
  2. Select Service Reception from the subcategories.

Step 2: Create a Job or Appointment

  1. Enter the relevant job or appointment where you want to add the request line.
  2. Create a new request line.
    • Note: Combination lines are only applicable to Labour Request Lines and will not work with Non-Labour Request Lines.

Step 3: Configure the Combination Request Line

  1. On the newly created request line, locate the Customer dropdown box.
  2. Select the "Combination" option.
  3. A configuration box will appear, allowing you to partition the costs.

Step 4: Partition the Costs

  1. Assign the percentages for each type (e.g., Customer, Warranty).
    • Example:
      • 50% to Customer
      • 50% to Warranty
  2. Ensure the total equals 100%.
    • You can use up to two decimal places for precise allocation.
  3. Click OK to save your settings.

Key Notes

  • Labour Request Lines Only: Combination lines are exclusively for Labour Request Lines and will not work with Non-Labour Request Lines.
  • Total Allocation: Always verify that the total value adds up to exactly 100%.
  • Flexible Usage: This feature is particularly useful for scenarios involving split billing, such as charging a portion to a customer and the remainder to warranty.

Example Scenario

Job Type: Service Repair

  • Customer Charged: 70%
  • Warranty Covered: 30%

When setting up the combination line:

  1. Assign 70% to Customer.
  2. Assign 30% to Warranty.
  3. Confirm that the total equals 100% and save the configuration.

Benefits

Creating a Combination Labour Request Line:

  • Simplifies billing for mixed responsibility jobs.
  • Ensures accurate allocation of costs between parties.
  • Enhances transparency in job costing.
