Enabling Line-by-Line Clocking for Technicians

Line-by-line clocking is particularly useful for warranty work, where warranty companies require a breakdown of time spent on each request line. This feature ensures that the recorded time is allocated accurately to each job, allowing for detailed tracking, better accountability, and compliance with warranty provider requirements.

Enabling this feature ensures that technicians clock time against individual service lines rather than the entire job, improving transparency and simplifying invoicing and warranty claims.


How to Enable Line-by-Line Clocking

To activate this setting, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Service Parameters

    • Go to Workshop > Service Parameters.
  2. Enable Line-by-Line Clocking

    • Select the Warranty Setup tab.
    • Tick the checkbox for Line-by-Line Clocking.
  3. Save Your Changes

    • Click Save to apply the changes.

Once enabled, technicians will be required to clock time against each service request line individually, rather than logging time against the job as a whole.
