The Navigator app offers various functions, from technicians clocking on and off jobs to creating vehicle appraisals. This guide focuses specifically on the technician clocking functionality.
Accessing the Technician Clocking Feature
Technicians can access the clocking feature within the Navigator app using their login credentials. When logging in, they will need to enter their site ID, which corresponds to the first part of their Navigator server address. For guidance on finding your site ID, refer to click here..
Clocking Onto a Job
Once logged in, technicians will see the Technician Clocking screen, which displays a list of all accepted jobs. To clock onto a job:
- Select the job by tapping on the job box.
- Use the Search by Reg No field to find a specific job by entering the full vehicle registration number (partial entries will not return results).
- After selecting the job, technicians can:
- Choose a request line to clock onto a specific task within the job.
- Press "Clock On" to clock onto the job as a whole, without selecting a specific request line.
Adding Notes While Clocked Onto a Job
While working on a job, technicians can:
- Select a request line to add notes. These notes will appear under the Technician Notes tab for that request line.
- Use the Communication feature within the app to send messages. These messages will be logged under the Communication tab on the job record.
Clocking Off a Job
To clock off a job, technicians can:
- Select a request line and update the status as required.
- Or simply press "Clock Off", which will prompt them to enter:
- Mileage (if applicable).
- New non-productive status (if relevant).
- Updated job status before completing the clock-off process.
