• The SIV (Stand-in-Value) represents the vehicle’s recorded cost in the dealership’s accounts.
• If a write-down were to exceed this value, it would imply that the vehicle has a negative worth, which is impossible because assets cannot have negative intrinsic value.

2. Maintaining Accurate Financial Records

• A vehicle’s book value must always reflect a realistic and justifiable financial position.
• Overwriting its value beyond its SIV would cause inaccurate financial reporting, affecting profit calculations and overall financial statements.
