Factory options represent the original equipment and optional extras configured on a vehicle when it was ordered from the manufacturer. Keeping these options accurate in Navigator ensures that stock records are correct for sales listings, valuations, and advertising integrations (such as AutoTrader or the company website).
This article outlines the steps for updating vehicle factory options directly from the stock record in the Vehicle Admin Toolkit.
Important Note Before Making Changes
If the vehicle is already sold and adopted into a deal, the deal must first be:
Credited
Unadopted
Only once the deal is reversed can the stock record be amended. This ensures all financial and logistical records remain accurate and consistent.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Access the Stock Record
Navigate to Vehicle Admin Toolkit.
Open the relevant vehicle stock record.
Go to the Details tab.
Click the Update Spec button.
This will open the vehicle’s specification management screen.
Step 2: Modify the Options
In the specification screen, click on Add Option.
This screen allows you to:
Add new factory options.
Remove existing options that may have been added in error or no longer apply.
Step 3: Select or Deselect Options
A list of available factory options will appear.
Tick the boxes next to any options you wish to add.
Untick any boxes for options you wish to remove.
Review your selections to ensure accuracy.
Confirm and save your changes.
The vehicle record will now reflect the updated list of factory options.
