This guide explains how to raise a workshop job against a vehicle stock record in Navigator. This is typically used for PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspections), servicing, or rectification work such as body repairs prior to delivery or resale. Correctly recording these jobs ensures that all workshop activity and associated costs are tracked.
Step-by-Step: Creating a Workshop Job
1. Access the Vehicle Stock Record
Launch Navigator.
Open the relevant vehicle stock record.
Navigate to the PDI / Prep tab.
2. Start Job Creation
Click the Create Job button.
A pop-up window will appear where you can manage the workshop jobs.
3. Remove Unwanted Jobs
If any jobs are auto-populated and not required:
Either double-click the job line to remove it,
Or select the job line and click Remove Job.
4. Add a New Job
Click the Add Job button.
From this screen, you can:
Select predefined work types, such as MOT or Service.
Or manually enter a free-text description (e.g. "bodywork repair", "valet").
Click OKAY to confirm the job.
Repeat as needed for each task required.
5. Generate the Workshop Order
Once all jobs have been added, click the Create Workshop Order button.
This action sends the work to the workshop and creates a linked job record.
Monitoring Job Progress
Any jobs still in progress will appear in the PDI / Prep tab of the stock record.
Completed and invoiced jobs can be found under the Service History tab.
This gives a full view of outstanding work and a historical audit trail.
