If the registration is correct but the make or model is wrong, you can correct it in Navigator by pulling the correct details from the DVLA vehicle database. This works if the DVLA holds the correct data for the registration.
Why This Matters
Accurate make and model details help your team:
Order the right parts without delay
Avoid incorrect labour times in service menus
Keep service history records accurate
Maintain compliance with customer and warranty documentation
Step 1 – Check DVLA Data
Before updating, confirm the DVLA record is correct. Use the DVLA vehicle information service:
https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla
Step 2 – Update the Job Card
In Navigator, go to Workshop.
Select Service Reception.
Load the job you want to update.
Click VRM next to the registration field.
Navigator will re-VRM the vehicle, pulling updated make and model details from the DVLA.
This ensures your job card matches the official DVLA record.
