We've made an improvement to the Bank Reconciliation process in Navigator to ensure transactions are recorded against the correct reconciliation month.
Previously, you only needed to enter the day of the month when reconciling a transaction. You will now need to enter the full date, including the day, month and year.
Why has this changed?
Previously, Navigator assumed that the date entered belonged to the current month.
For example, if you reconciled a transaction from 25 September during October and entered 25, Navigator would assume 25 October.
This could result in the transaction appearing under the incorrect month on your reconciliation printout.
By entering the full date, Navigator can now correctly identify which month the transaction belongs to, regardless of when you complete the reconciliation.
What do I need to do?
When reconciling your bank transactions:
Open your usual Bank Reconciliation screen.
Select the transaction you wish to reconcile and double click it.
Enter the full reconciliation date using the calendar, rather than just entering the day.
Continue reconciling as normal.
Benefits of this improvement
Improved accuracy – Transactions appear under the correct reconciliation month.
Clearer reporting – Reconciliation printouts reflect the intended dates.
Greater flexibility – Transactions can be reconciled in a later month without automatically being assigned to that month.
Summary
This small change helps improve the accuracy of your bank reconciliation records and printed reports.
The only difference to your usual process is that you now enter the full date instead of just the day.
