How to Remove Old Models from the Vehicle List When Adding Stock

Modified on Fri, 27 Dec, 2024 at 11:55 AM

When a new model year is released, older models may still appear on your list of vehicles, causing clutter and potential confusion. To ensure only current models are displayed when adding new vehicles, older models need to be marked as "Non-Current". This guide explains how to update your system to hide retired models effectively.

Steps to Remove Old Models

  1. Access Vehicle Parameter Maintenance:

    • Navigate to:
Vehicle Parameter Maintenance > Price List
  2. Search for the Model:

    • Click the Search button to bring up the full list of models.
    • Alternatively, enter specific details in the search fields to filter for the model you want to update.
  3. Open the Model Details:

    • Locate the model in question from the list.
    • Double-click on the model to open its details.
  4. Mark as Non-Current:

    • In the model details window, untick the checkbox labelled "Current Model".
    • Click Save and Close to finalise the update.

Outcome

  • The model will no longer appear in the list of available vehicles when vehicle admin or sales staff are adding new stock.
  • This ensures a cleaner and more relevant list, simplifying the stock addition process.

Key Notes

  • Accurate Model Management: Regularly review and update the model list to ensure only current models are marked as active.
  • Search Filters: Use the search function to quickly locate specific models, especially if you have a large inventory.
  • Visibility Changes: Marking a model as non-current only hides it from new stock creation; it does not delete it from the system.

Scenarios Where This Process is Useful

  • Removing outdated models after the release of new model years.
  • Streamlining the model list to make vehicle selection faster and more accurate.
  • Preventing confusion or errors during stock addition by hiding irrelevant models.
