Work Types in the T-Card screen of Workshop Reception allow for easy categorisation of jobs using colour codes. This visual system helps workshop staff quickly identify different job types at a glance, such as internal work, warranty jobs, or retail jobs. By assigning distinct colours to various job categories, workshops can streamline workflow, reduce errors, and improve efficiency when managing multiple tasks.
Additional Work Categories for a Dealership Workshop
To further enhance organisation and job tracking, consider adding additional Work Types that cater specifically to a car dealership’s workshop:
On-Site Customer Vehicle – Jobs for cars that are currently on the premises, such as quick inspections or same-day repairs.
Awaiting Parts – Jobs that cannot proceed until ordered parts arrive. Helps prevent unnecessary workshop delays.
MOT & Compliance – For mandatory inspections like MOT tests or other roadworthiness checks.
PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) – For new or used cars undergoing final checks before delivery to customers.
Recall Repairs – Manufacturer-issued recall work that requires specific tracking.
Accessory Fitting – Jobs related to customer-requested accessory installations (e.g., dash cams, roof racks).
Vehicle Prep & Valeting – Cleaning, detailing, or pre-sale preparation of vehicles.
Diagnostic Work – Jobs requiring extensive fault-finding or advanced diagnostics before confirming repairs.
Fleet & Lease Servicing – Dedicated servicing or maintenance for fleet or lease vehicles.
Insurance & Accident Repairs – Jobs related to insurance claims or bodywork repairs following accidents.
Road Test Required – Identifies jobs where a test drive is essential before completion.
Off-Site / Mobile Repair – Jobs performed outside the dealership, such as mobile servicing or breakdown assistance.
