Workshop Categories - Work Types

Modified on Tue, 4 Feb at 2:29 PM

Work Types in the T-Card screen of Workshop Reception allow for easy categorisation of jobs using colour codes. This makes it simpler to identify specific job types at a glance, such as internal work, warranty jobs, or retail jobs. By assigning colours to different job categories, workshop staff can streamline workflow, reduce errors, and improve efficiency when managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

How to Set Up Work Types

  1. Navigate to Work Type Settings:

    • Go to Workshop > Service Parameters > Addl Job Status > Work Type.
    • Click Add to create a new Work Type.
  2. Define the Work Type:

    • Enter a description (e.g., "Warranty Repair" or "Internal Maintenance").
    • Select a colour that represents the job type clearly.
    • Click Save to confirm the new Work Type.

Applying a Work Type to a Job

Once Work Types are created, they can be assigned to jobs:

  1. Open the job within the Workshop system.
  2. Locate the Work Type selection at the bottom right-hand corner of the job screen.
  3. Choose the appropriate Work Type from the list.
  4. Save the job with the assigned Work Type.

Filtering Jobs by Work Type

To easily find and manage jobs categorised under specific Work Types:

  • In Workshop Reception, select Category from the filtering options.
  • The system will then display all jobs assigned to that specific Work Type, making it easier to track progress and prioritise work accordingly.

Benefits of Using Work Types

Quick job identification using colour-coded categories
Improved workflow management for workshop staff
Enhanced job tracking through easy filtering
Better organisation of internal, warranty, and customer jobs
