This guide explains how to access the Forms Designer, update text, add images, and save your changes in Navigator. Forms are unique to each branch, but you can switch branches as needed.
Accessing the Forms Designer
- Select Setup from the main menu.
- Click on Forms Designer.
- A list of available forms will be displayed, including their names and descriptions.
- Locate the form you want to update (e.g., a Service Invoice).
- Double-click the form to open it.
Editing Text in a Form
- Once the form is loaded, you can add or modify text.
- Use either the Text Component or the Rich Text Component (preferred for better formatting).
- If Rich Text is not available:
- Open Setup Toolbox from the side menu.
- Scroll to Components and enable Rich Text.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
- To add text:
- Select Rich Text from the toolbar.
- Draw a container in the desired location.
- Enter and format your text as needed.
- Click OK to confirm.
- Verify that your text appears correctly on screen.
- If necessary, adjust the container size or position.
- Double-click the text component to edit it.
- Use the Word Wrap property (found on the right-hand side) to enable or disable wrapping as needed.
Adding Images to a Form
- Ensure the form is open in the Forms Designer.
- Select Image from the toolbar.
- Draw a container where the image should be placed.
- Click Open to locate the image file.
- Select the image and click Open to upload it.
- Click OK to view the image.
- If the image does not appear correctly, adjust the properties on the right-hand side:
- Aspect Ratio: If enabled, the image maintains its original proportions when resized. If disabled, it may stretch.
- Stretch: If enabled, the image adjusts to fit the container. If disabled, it retains its original resolution.
Checking for Errors and Saving the Form
- Before saving, check for errors to ensure Navigator can print the form correctly.
- Select Preview to confirm that the form loads properly.
- If the form loads successfully, it is safe to save.
- If errors appear at the bottom of the screen:
- Undo recent changes if you’re unsure of the issue.
- Contact the helpdesk for assistance if needed.
- To save the form:
- Click the X in the top-right corner.
- When prompted, select the appropriate option to save your changes.
