The Forms Designer allows you to customise printed outputs in Navigator, such as invoices, job cards, sales orders, and other forms. You can edit text, add images, set conditional logos, and insert variables to display data dynamically.
Why This Matters
Correctly setting up forms ensures:
Consistent branding across all branches
Accurate and complete information on printed documents
Fewer print errors and less downtime
Faster turnaround when changes are required
Accessing the Forms Designer
Select Setup from the main menu.
Click Forms Designer.
A list of available forms will display, showing names and descriptions.
Double-click the form you want to edit.
Editing Text
Use the Rich Text Component for better formatting.
If Rich Text is not available:
Open Setup Toolbox from the side menu.
Go to Components and enable Rich Text.
To add text:
Select Rich Text from the toolbar.
Draw a container on the form.
Enter and format your text.
Click OK.
Adjust size, position, and Word Wrap settings as needed.
(See also “Accessing the Forms Designer” link above)
Adding Images
With the form open, select Image from the toolbar.
Draw a container in the desired location.
Select the image file from your computer.
Adjust properties:
Aspect Ratio – Keeps the image proportional.
Stretch – Fits the image to the container.
Removing or Replacing Images
Select the image and press Delete, or use Remove.
To replace, follow the adding image steps above.
Displaying Conditional Logos
You can display different logos based on the vehicle make.
Add a logo image as above.
Set Enabled to False in Behaviour properties.
In Appearance, click Conditions.
Add a condition such as:
Vehicle.StartsWith("SKODA")
Repeat for each logo as needed.
Adding and Amending Variables
Variables pull data from Navigator into your form. Without adding a variable to the list, it will cause the form to display and print blank.
Open the form in Forms Designer.
Go to the Dictionary tab and select New Variable.
Enter the variable name in the Alias box.
Click OK.
Use Preview to check it works.
Common Variable Lists
These variables can be inserted into forms to display system data.
