Schedule Nominal Report - BLANK Lines

Modified on Sat, 13 Sep at 9:42 AM

The Schedule Nominal report provides a breakdown of a balance sheet account at month end, analysed by Stock Number, Account Number, or Job Number. This helps you check how balances are made up and identify any postings that have not been properly scheduled.

How to Access the Schedule Nominal Report

  1. Go to the Nominal Ledger.

  2. Select the Reports tab.

  3. Click Schedule Nominal at the top of the window.

Running the Report

  1. Enter the nominal code you want to review.

  2. Choose how the account should be scheduled:

    • Stock No

    • Sales Ledger Account No

    • Purchase Ledger Account No

    • Job No

  3. Enter the date to schedule (typically the month end).

  4. Run the report.

Understanding the Results

  • The report will show the breakdown of the balance sheet account by the selected reference (Stock No, Account No, or Job No).

  • If you see any lines with the reference BLANK, this means:

    • A manual journal has been posted to the balance sheet account.

    • It was not scheduled by Stock No, Account No, or Job No.

Reviewing BLANK Entries

To check these:

  1. Run a transaction report for the same nominal code.

  2. Sort by the columns: Stock No, Account No, or Job No.

  3. Any lines without a reference in these columns will match the BLANK entries in the Schedule Nominal report.

Why This Matters

Using the Schedule Nominal report ensures:

  • Balance sheet accounts are properly analysed and traceable.

  • Any unscheduled manual journals are quickly identified.

  • Month-end balances remain accurate and transparent.
