Changing Windows Printer Settings to Greyscale

Modified on Tue, 25 Nov at 2:11 PM

Greyscale keeps documents free of colour output. You reduce colour ink use and keep results consistent. This applies when users print from Windows workstations. Navigator does not control these settings. You manage them through the printer settings in Windows.

Why This Matters
You save colour ink. You avoid unwanted colour prints. You keep print jobs stable and predictable.

How to Change to Greyscale

  1. Open the Windows Start menu.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Select Devices.

  4. Select Printers and Scanners.

  5. Select your printer.

  6. Select Manage.

  7. Select Printing Preferences.

  8. Open the Colour or Quality tab.

  9. Select Greyscale, Black and White, or Mono. The wording depends on the printer driver.

  10. Select OK to save.
