What the Error Means
If you see a CefSharp error (for example, an “Unhandled exception” message when you open the program), it means your computer is missing a Microsoft file that the software needs to display some screens.
What CefSharp Is
CefSharp is a component that allows Windows programs to show web-style pages inside the application. Many parts of Navigator use it to display modern, interactive views.
If CefSharp cannot start properly, some parts of the system may not open or may appear blank.
Why This Matters
CefSharp is essential for running some screens in Navigator.
If this file is missing, you might not be able to access key areas of your system. Installing the correct Microsoft package restores these screens and prevents further errors.
What You’ll See
You might notice one or more of the following:
“Unhandled exception” messages when opening the program
A blank white window where a screen should appear
An error mentioning CefSharp or Chromium
The application closing immediately after opening
How to Fix the Problem
Close Navigator completely.
Download the missing Microsoft file using the link below.
Run the installer.
Follow the on-screen instructions until the setup finishes.
Restart your computer if asked.
Open Navigator again to check the error is resolved.
If the Error Still Appears
Try the following steps in order:
Repair the Microsoft install
Open Settings > Apps.
Find Microsoft Visual C++ in the list.
Choose Modify, then Repair.
Run Windows Update
Install all pending updates and restart your PC.
Check antivirus settings
Make sure your antivirus hasn’t blocked or deleted any CefSharp files.
Reinstall Navigator
Uninstall it through Settings > Apps.
Restart your computer.
