How to Export Reports from Navigator to Excel or CSV

Modified on Wed, 28 Oct at 8:29 AM

Many reports within Navigator can be exported to an external file, allowing you to analyse the information, share it with colleagues or upload it into another system.

Depending on the report, you may be able to export the results into formats such as Microsoft Excel or CSV (Comma-Separated Values).

This guide explains how to export a report and choose the most suitable format.

How to export a report

  1. Open Navigator and navigate to the report you wish to export.

  2. Enter any required criteria, such as dates, branches or account numbers.

  3. Run the report to display the results.

  4. Right-click anywhere within the report results.

  5. Locate the Export option in the menu.

  6. Select your preferred file format, such as Excel or CSV, depending on the options available.

  7. Choose where to save the file on your computer, if prompted.

  8. Open the saved file to check that the information has exported correctly.

Note: The available export options and file formats may vary depending on the report you are using.

Which export format should I choose?

The most suitable format depends on what you intend to do with the information.

FormatBest used for
ExcelReviewing data, applying filters, performing calculations and creating spreadsheets.
CSVUploading information into other systems or working with applications that require a CSV file.

If you are exporting a report for use in another application, check which file format that system requires before saving.

What should I check before uploading an exported report?

If you intend to upload the exported information into another system, we recommend checking the file first.

Ensure that:

  • The report contains the correct information and reporting period.

  • All expected rows and columns have been exported.

  • Column headings are present and correctly labelled.

  • Dates, account numbers and other important values are displayed correctly.

  • The file has been saved in the format required by the receiving system.

Checking the file before uploading can help prevent errors or rejected imports.

What if I cannot see an Export option?

Not all Navigator reports necessarily support the same export functionality.

If the option is unavailable when you right-click, check whether the report provides another export or save option.

If you are unable to export the information you need, contact the Navigator Helpdesk for assistance.

Summary

Exporting reports from Navigator allows you to work with your information outside the system.

For many reports, simply run the report, right-click within the results and select the appropriate export format.

Choose Excel for analysing information or CSV when preparing data for another system, and always check the exported file before using it.
