How to Run and Use the Technician Report

Modified on Thu, 1 May at 1:11 PM

The Technician Report in Navigator is a powerful tool for reviewing technician performance across one or multiple branches over a selected date range. It is commonly used by service managers for operational oversight and by accounts teams to support payroll processing.

This guide explains how to access, customise, and export the Technician Report, as well as how to interpret its data effectively.

Accessing the Technician Report

To run the report:

  1. Log into Navigator with your staff number and password.

  2. From the left-hand menu, expand the Workshop dropdown.

  3. Select Service Manager’s Toolkit.

  4. At the top of the screen, click the Reports tab.

  5. Then click the Technician icon.

Generating the Report

  1. The calendar fields will default to today’s date.

  2. Adjust the Date From and Date To fields to cover your desired reporting period.

  3. Click the Report button to generate the results.

Viewing and Filtering Data

  • The report will display data for all technicians across the selected branches by default.

  • You can filter the data using the column headers, such as technician name or branch.

As you filter the report, the summary totals at the bottom of the screen update automatically, reflecting your filtered view.

Exporting or Printing the Report

To export, print, or copy the data:

  1. Right-click anywhere in the report window.

  2. Choose from the available options:

    • Print the report

    • Copy individual cells

    • Download/export the data to your PC in various formats (e.g., CSV, Excel)

This allows you to retain, analyse, or share the report outside Navigator as needed.

Understanding the Report Columns

Each row in the Technician Report corresponds to a technician's activity over the selected period. Although the document refers to a supporting reference for column descriptions, typical fields may include:

  • Technician name

  • Clocked hours

  • Time on jobs

  • Utilisation %

  • Efficiency %

  • Jobs invoiced

  • Bonus earned

If you require a full breakdown of column definitions, consult your internal Navigator reporting manual or contact support for documentation.

Exiting the Report

When you're finished, simply select the Cloze button to exit the report screen.

Summary

The Technician Report provides essential insight into technician time usage, productivity, and output. Use it to:

  • Track technician performance trends

  • Support payroll with validated time records

  • Identify training needs or inefficiencies

  • Produce monthly or weekly service department reports
