How to Use the Technician Time Analysis Report

The Technician Time Analysis Report in Navigator provides a detailed breakdown of technician activities over a selected time period. This includes job-specific time tracking, invoicing details, and non-productive codes. It is an essential tool for service managers and payroll teams who need in-depth visibility into technician utilisation, productivity, and job coverage.

This guide walks you through how to access, run, navigate, and interpret the report.


Accessing the Technician Time Analysis Report

To open the report:

  1. Log into Navigator with your staff number and password.

  2. From the left-hand side menu, expand the Workshop dropdown.

  3. Select the Service Manager’s Toolkit.

  4. At the top of the screen, click on the Reports tab.

  5. Click the Tech Time Analysis icon.


Running the Report

  1. Enter the date range in the Date From and Date To fields.

  2. Click the Report button.

The report will begin compiling. It will appear on-screen (not print by default).


Report Content Overview

The report is presented across multiple sheets:

Per-Technician Detail

  • Shows each job a technician has clocked onto.

  • Includes:

    • Job number

    • Date

    • Time attended

    • Time taken

    • Hours charged

    • Labour value

    • Retail value of parts

Totals Summary

  • A consolidated view showing overall hours, labour value, and retail value for all technicians within the period.

Non-Productive Time

  • Lists:

    • Each non-productive code

    • Time spent on each

    • Technician usage breakdown

Unaccounted Jobs

  • Final sheet shows any invoiced jobs with no technician clocking recorded against them.

Use this to identify missed time entries or administrative gaps.


Navigating the Report

  • Use the Next Page and Previous Page buttons to move through the report.

  • Alternatively, use the arrow icons at the bottom left:

    • Arrow pointing right takes you to the last sheet.


Exporting or Printing the Report

Once generated, the report can be:

  • Printed

  • Emailed

  • Saved locally to your PC

Use these options depending on whether you need a physical record or wish to share the report digitally with payroll or management teams.


Important Notes

  • If a job is credited, it will no longer appear in the report.

  • The job will reappear only once it is re-invoiced.
