This guide explains how to configure and update labour rates in Navigator, with a focus on SL (Sales Ledger) accounts. Labour rates can be set globally or customised for individual customers or accounts. It's important to ensure these are correctly maintained to apply accurate service charges when raising jobs in the Workshop module.
Option 1: Set Global Labour Rates
For general workshop labour rates used when no customer-specific rate is set:
Go to Workshop from the main menu.
Select Service Parameters.
Click on Labour Rates.
Update the standard labour rate here.
Any customer without a specific labour rate set will automatically use this value.
Option 2: Set Customer-Specific Labour Rates
If a customer or account has agreed special rates, you must update their individual profile.
To update a customer record:
Go to Marketing.
Click on View/Customer Prospect.
Search for and open the relevant customer.
Go to Profiles.
Select Service Profile.
Update the Labour Rate field as needed.
Click Save.
Option 3: Set Labour Rate for a Sales Ledger (SL) Account
You can update SL account-specific labour rates in two ways:
Method A: Via Customer Prospect
Go to Marketing > View/Customer Prospect.
In the "Other" search box, type the SL account reference.
For example, enter SL45 to access account number 45.Open the customer record.
Go to Profiles > Service Profile.
Update the labour rate.
Click Save.
Method B: Via Sales Ledger
Go to Accounts > Sales Ledger.
Load the relevant SL account.
Click on Details.
Select View Customer.
Go to Profiles > Service Profile.
Amend the labour rate.
Click Save.
Summary
Use Workshop > Service Parameters > Labour Rates to set default rates.
Use Marketing > Customer Prospect or Sales Ledger to configure account-specific rates.
Always save changes to ensure they take effect.
