Common Causes
Plate Changes:
- The vehicle has undergone a plate change, causing the system to mismatch data.
Incorrect VRM Data:
- The data linked to the VRM may be outdated or incorrect.
Input Errors:
- The registration number entered might be incorrect.
Missing Data:
- The vehicle's details might not be available in the system or online databases.
Steps to Resolve
1. Verify Vehicle Details
- Use the DVLA Check MOT and Car Tax page to confirm the vehicle details are correct.
- Double-check the registration number with the customer to ensure accuracy.
2. Manually Input Vehicle Details
- In the vehicle record, click the Change button next to the displayed model.
- A box will appear for manual entry of the vehicle details.
- For fields with missing specifications:
- Click the + button next to the dropdown box.
- Manually input the required details.
- Continue filling out the information, then click OK to save.
3. For New Customers
- Create a Customer Record:
- If the customer is new, create their record first before attempting to add the vehicle.
- Add the Vehicle:
- After creating the customer record, navigate to the Vehicle Icon and follow the steps above to manually input the vehicle details.
Key Notes
- Customer Confirmation: Always confirm with the customer that the registration and details provided are accurate.
- Manual Overrides: Use manual input when VRM data is unavailable or inaccurate.
