Can Information Be Deleted from the Customer’s History or Contact History?

Modified on Fri, 3 Oct at 12:28 PM

No, this information cannot be deleted. Customer history and contact history are retained for audit purposes. Deleting it would break the audit trail and create compliance risks.

This data may also be required for an SAR (Subject Access Request). An SAR is a formal request under data protection laws, such as the UK GDPR. It gives individuals the right to know what personal data an organisation holds about them, why it is being processed, and who it has been shared with.

Keeping a complete record ensures we can meet these legal obligations. If data was removed, we would not be able to provide accurate information in response to an SAR, which could lead to fines, complaints, or loss of customer trust.

For these reasons, customer history and contact history must always remain intact and cannot be deleted.
